Halloween went great. We went to the best neighborhood. Abby got to go trick or treating with a friend and the dads took them. I took Max and our friends' 18mos old. Both of them sat in a wagon and I pulled them around. Maxwell seemed to enjoy it until he got tired. He even got mad if someone forgot to put something in his bag but did in the other boy's. The other boy really got into the spirit of things. So, it was fun to take both boys out and see them enjoy themselves.
Maxwell was a lion. Abby was the queen of hearts. I'll post pictures soon.

Sometimes this week we should hear, hopefully, the date for the surgery. The surgeon even said Maxwell's head will be big enough for the first device choice we made so they asked if we'd like to keep with that. Of course, we said yes. So Maxwell will, hopefully, things are set in stone quite yet, get an Advanced Bionics Harmony system.

If the link doesn't work, I'm sorry. Just google or copy and paste.
The surgery should be about 2 hrs and it is all outpatient. Maxwell will go home that day with his head wrapped up and on some good pain meds. I've been told some of the meds he will get or because of the anesthesia his pee will smell quite awful. I guess we'll find out.

About 3 weeks (this is going off of the process, nothing scheduled yet) we should get trained or taught about the device and he should begin wearing it to get used to it. About a week later is when it is turned on, or in more technicalish terms, it will be activated. After that Maxwell will go back every week for habilitation and for programming. He'll go for a year and then we can go to people closer and things will be spaced out a bit more.

Anyhow, now ya know. The internal device is shown on the bionicear website. It looks big in the picture but is more the size of about 2 knickles or slightly bigger and is mostly flexible.

Can you tell we are excited? I just though I would post this all for those who want to know or are just curious.
