Friday was the ward temple trip. I wasn't planning on going. In fact, I had forgotten about it until New Year's day when our friends were over. The husband works in DC and the wife was getting hooked up with a ride. I had offered to take her and I would take the kids to the DC Temple visitor center. The offer was pretty good until I remember the weather was forecast to be snowy so I told her I couldn't go.
Friday I was tearing the house apart looking for my wallet. It wasn't until New Year's day that I realized I did not have my wallet. The last time I saw it was when I had it at church and I had not been out of the house since Sunday. I had a few errands to run in town and so stopped by the church to see if I could find my wallet. Alas, it was nowhere to be seen by eyes so I headed home to see if I had just overlooked it somehow. Friday morning the wallet was still not found and so I began to clean and I was going to turn everything upside down in the process looking for the missing wallet. Normally I would have panicked, but the first thing I did when I realized the wallet may have indeed been lost, was check my accounts online. No activity for my cards and so I hoped if it was lost it was found by an honest person otherwise I was still hoping it was at home.
My Friday cleaning wasn't as deep as I wanted. I was secretly looking forward to doing wallet clean up but I just couldn't get out of my mind that the wallet was not in the house, so I called the bishop hoping that someone turned in a found wallet and they weren't going to look inside to see the owner but instead wait to announce it Sunday. The bishop had not been given a wallet but he invited me to go with him, his wife, and the others who would be riding with him to the temple. I told him I would think about it and get back to him. I got back to him really quickly, about two seconds after I had hung. I informed him the missing wallet also contained my temple recommend. He didn't take back his offer but let me know he was the bishop and his brother was in the Stake Presidency if he would be needed.
Thirty minutes after I talked to the bishop the Relief Society President called. She had found my wallet! The wallet was at the church but had fallen beneath a chair. I didn't think to look behind the chair and don't even remember looking in the room it was in, but rather passing the room by because I figured it wouldn't be in there, even though it was under the chair I had placed it on. Next time, I'll look more thoroughly. I was quite grateful to have my wallet back and glad she called me because she almost waited to just bring it to church on Sunday. I think I would have been panicking way before then.
Needless to say, Sam watched the kids Friday night, and I went to the temple. Next time I'll come prepared though. My ride and several others decided to go for cheesecake afterwards. We got home well after 1am. It was enjoyable though and I appreciated the ride and the opportunity to go the temple and have my wallet back.
Abby changed primary classes today. She got a new CTR ring. She still has the ring she got last year. I think that is pretty good because every time I got a CTR ring it was always lost within the first month.
Maxwell started primary today. Our primary room is a little small and the wheelchair doesn't really fit in a good spot up front but Max enjoyed everything. I got a tiny chair and sat in front of him to attempt at signing primary songs and other things for him. It was fun to rise to the challenge and try to remember all the signs to the first verse of "Follow the Prophet" I got the chorus down, now if I can just get the verse down.
