Anyhow, the kids had lots of fun and they went trick or treating several different times.
Each time I took Max trick or treating (three different days) his costume changed. The original plan was for him to be a sailor in a boat.
I had the sailor outfit done first.

By Wednesday, the trunk or treat, part of the costume was missing, but I did have the boat finished.

By Saturday the rest of his sailor outfit was missing. He was now just a boat.

Abby started out as a witch.

By Saturday Abby was a princess.

After the trick or treating, and to prevent fighting and many tears over candy Abby and I made a candy chart.

Abby is very excited about this chart and it eliminates begging. We did it last year too. Works great. Just don't let me forget to do it next year too.

For Maxwell's birthday we went to the trunk or treat. The next day we took him to his favorite restaurant, Chick-fil-A. He got to eat a bun with cheese and he scarfed down the cheesecake covered in chocolate. Afterward we took him in the play area. Maxwell has never been on the play toys at restaurants before. The furthest he has ever gotten is the bottom floor or steps. This time, Sam helped him up to the top and Abby helped him down the slide. He loved it so much he tried going back up the slide. Sam took him a few more times. Sam can bend quite well. I was impressed he could even manage getting up those windy 'steps' and through the winding tubes. We took comfort knowing that the things had to be built sturdy enough for them to have instructions posted saying that children under a certain age had to be accompanied by and adult in the play toy.

Happy Birthday Max and I love the candy chart idea. Oh, and the boat--super cute!
