Muddy Hands

They sent Maxwell home last night. I was very happy they did. There wasn't any reason to really keep him there any longer. I especially pleased when they let me breastfeed him again. He had gone more than 24 hrs without eating and the only way to comfort him is with breastfeeding. Needless to say he cried and fussed the entire time I couldn't feed him. He had such a hard time with it that he only slept at the most 4 hours that night but broken up. Yesterday he slept all day and most of last night. He isn't back to normal yet. It has been traumatic for him and he won't let me stop breastfeeding him. If I put him down he screams bloody murder. This is where I need Sam. He will let Sam hold him and if he doesn't see me then he will even go to sleep. Right now though I will hold him as long as I can and let him know he is ok.

Abby has been coughing all day. It is a dry cough and I think her lungs have just been filled with all the dust and stuff from all the cleaning and packing. After one of her coughs she told me, "my throat came out my mouth." Not less than a minute later she coughed again, this time hard enough to puke up the chocolate she had eaten only ten minutes prior. This time she screamed, "my hands are muddy, there's mud on my hands!" While cleaning her off she politely told me, "my stomach (or throat, I don't remember) wasn't cooperating." I must agree with her. Sometimes things just don't cooperate the way we would like them.
