The special ed teacher from the infants and toddlers program came today to go over the IEP meeting and hand me some 'draft' reports that explained the goals the teachers and therapists would be working on. It looked good to me and she answered all my questions.
We are having the IEP on Tuesday because the teacher is pregnant and about to go on leave. She has worked hard to make sure we have a smooth transition and have this done before her leave starts. I just thought that we would be taking care of this stuff now because of this and then in October Max could start school. It is much different than I thought. I can register Maxwell any time after the IEP. So, if I register him the day after he could start school that week or the next. Of course, it may be longer because I would have to sign up for the bus and it usually takes them 10 days to start. However, Maxwell could begin school in September, not October. Cool! I think he will like it and he already has his 'backpack'. We will definitely be taking pictures and posting them.

Just wondering since he and Zach are the sme age. should I be getting Zach ready for school too? is he already that age or is it just the special schooling Max is going to?
Oh no, you don't have to anything about preparing Zach. This is all because at Maxwell loses his services through early intervention when he turns 3 so they are turned over to the school then if we want to continue services. Special Education is provided for kids ages 3-21. Hope I wasn't getting you worried.;)
