Maxwell has been home sick all week. I kept him home only because of a cold. The last thing I wanted to do was send him in with a nasty runny nose for the teachers to wipe. I thought I would spare them the task.
Anyhow, this made things quite boring for Maxwell. He has gotten used to all of the attention that school brings and as a result he wants constant play at home. I think he got so bored he decided he'd do some growing and meet a milestone that most parents would rather their children miss.
Today, while we were all making halloween paper crafts to tape to our walls Maxwell put some paper in his mouth. A few hours later I caught him chewing on a crayon. He must've liked the crayon a lot because he tried to put it in my mouth and later tried to put the crayon back in his mouth. I guess I should watch what I let hm around now.
Maxwell has also started to help get himself dressed. I love it partly because the next time he is given some sort of a developmental test and they ask if he helps with dressing himself I can now say "yes".

I decided it was time I let Abby do cooking. No, nothing complicated. I figured she likes to make stuff and what a better time to teach her how to make pancakes and be proud of herself. Her first attempt at cracking eggs was...well, I just don't know how to say it so I won't. Let's just say I fished all of the shells out. We had great pink pancakes.
Yesterday Abby made more pancakes. I fished all the shell out again. We had very tasty blue pancakes.
Today Abby helped make cookies. I fished one tiny piece of shell out. I'm so proud of my girl. Cracking eggs is not the easiest thing in the world. She got to do two eggs. I guess it was a good thing I didn't look at the recipe right and gave her two instead of one.
