An update

So, I am off to The City to pick up Sam's parents tomorrow. I am looking forward to the drive. One might think I am insane but I actually enjoy the traffic challenge and just the drive in general through the rest of CT. It gives me a change to get out and feel like I am going somewhere. It also gives me my adrenaline rush of living on the edge for a few hours while I fight to survive in traffic. I haven't been to JKF airport before so this will be interesting. It doesn't look too hard, they have two terminals closed at the moment, and I have an airport map.

Maxwell is doing good. I forgot to put his hearing aid in today. I am sure there will be many days like that. I have been trying to do my research into the deaf community and sign language. I checked a book out of the library, "A Complete Idiot's Guide to Learning Sign Language" and was so appalled that I wrote an online review of it at Amazon.com. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get out all of my feelings about the book in the review but I think the ten other reviews covered it quite nicely. It seems to go across the board that it is a terrible book. So terrible in fact that the alphabet was done wrong. Personally I have come across better sign language books and ones that are not so determined to discourage me from learning the language. This book seemed to try hard to make sure that you would get discouraged and wouldn't be able to understand anything about the language (I don't think anyone could really learn from the book) and that if you did try you would only make a fool of yourself and you wouldn't be accepted or liked by deaf people at all. I thought it funny, or interesting, that the author tried so hard to educate how hard the deaf had worked to get out of being oppressed and all and fighting for their rights and then turn around and make them into mean people. True, there are over the top individuals in the deaf community but not all are that way and you can find over the top people anywhere and with anything.

Sam will have tomorrow off. I am glad. Abby is Daddy starved and so they will go to the beach to catch up.

I am trying a few things out. I have found a bunch of mix recipes so all I have to do is add butter and water to most of them. I have done a huge choco. pudding mix and a bunch of rice mixes, and different flavors as well. They aren't bad and I think I like them better then rice a roni. My next task is to do pasta ones and soup ones.

The book is coming along. Sam has been busy and hasn't had time to finish reading the outline I gave him. that is ok though because I want to change a few things and add more details to it. I am still in need of developing some of the characters more and a few of them are still without names. At least we finally gave the main character a name. I am still a bit upset that the love interest turned out to be the murderer. Agh, the mean guy, and he would have had a chance too.

I'm glad you will let me be your friend. My father in law just left but my mother in law is still here for another week.
