There are many things I don't know as a homeowner. I've got a lot to learn here. So, when I looked outside at the outside unit to our AC/Heater and saw steam rising from it and the fan not turning I kind of freaked. I hadn't seen that before and it is not like our heater to run when the fan is not spinning endlessly around. So, fearing the worse I turned it off. I didn't know what was going on and I sure as heck didn't want something 'bad' to happen.
Anyhow, I called to make sure our heater was covered on the home warranty we purchased with the house. It's covered. Great! The only problem is that we are headed into a weekend and there is supposed to be a big snow storm with ice mixed in the middle of it coming tomorrow at 10am. So, I put in the claim and made an appointment for a repairman to come at 8:30am. Just enough to time to keep us from freezing. Oh, did I mention he told me about our emergency heat. I knew we had it but didn't know how it worked and if we needed that fan on. While I was on the phone I got more information about that steam coming out. Turns out it does that when it is defrosting and that it probably got stuck in defrost mode. See, the thing is, I told you I didn't know much about these sorts of things, and I think it probably wasn't stuck in defrost until I turned it off before it finished its business.

We got Maxwell's gait trainer in November and ever since I have been dreading the bill that would come in the mail. I even doubted my reasoning for getting it. I can now rest assured, I hope, that insurance did indeed cover it. I can now breathe and sleep well.
Speaking of the gait trainer, Maxwell has been making great strides in learning to walk. Yesterday he walked along the side of the piano bench, grabbed onto his gait trainer, got in front of it and turned himself around, then he tried to strap himself in.
